CHRIS & COSEY / CARTER TUTTI - NEWS ARCHIVE 1996
CONSPIRACY INTERNATIONAL and RERELEASES
Chris & Cosey now have most of their back catalogue in house (it was previously on PIAS records) and on their own Conspiracy International label (distro: World Serpent). The releases affected are: 'Heartbeat', 'Trance', 'Love and Songs of Love & Lust' and 'Techno Primitive', 'Core', 'Action', 'Collectiv One', 'Collectiv Two', 'Collectiv Three' and 'Collectiv Four' will all be available later this year from World Serpent.
This is part of a deliberate move back to CTI’s Conspiracy International label as a means of centralising their work which had become somewhat dispersed over the years. The above releases will no longer be available through Play It Again Sam but exclusively through World Serpent Distribution. The other releases; 'Exotika', 'Trust', 'Pagan Tango' and 'Fantastique!' are, for the time being, still with Play It Again Sam.
OTHER C&C NEWS
Cosey exhibited two works entitled ‘Lip Service Blue’ and ‘Lip Service Pink’ in The First International Biennal of Female Artists Art in Sweden. The exhibition runs from December ‘94 thru Feb ‘95. The two pieces were photographs manipulated via Macintosh.
SOUND ON SOUND
Chris has begun writing technical articles and reviews on music equipment for Sound On Sound magazine.
The first one was on the Korg Wavestation, the second on the WASP synth and more to come are the Roland 100M System and pieces on Roland Micro Composers and Akai sampling techniques. More to follow. (see this link)
A CTI video is due to be shown at the Spanish Electronic Music festival SONAR in June this year.It features new visuals created specifically by Chris Carter and Cosey F.Tutti for new sound pieces they have recorded this year. They hope to release this later in the year, and also include visuals created for Chronomanic tracks last year. Look out later this year, seems like there’ll be lots to feed the senses on.
