ILLEGAL MP3 SITES
We know this topic has come up many times before but PLEASE DO NOT support illegal MP3 sites. In particular there are Russian websites that are NOT authorised to sell or trade Chris & Cosey, Carter Tutti, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Chris Carter or any other CTI downloads. No matter what they state on their websites they are selling our music illegally and do not pay anything to us, our collaborators or our publishers.
For all anyone knows the money they rake in from downloads is probably funding drug dealing, arms trading and people trafficking. Our financial income is derived almost entirely from our artistic endeavours (which is primarily the music we produce) and if illegal MP3 sites such as these continue to steal from us the stark reality is that we will ultimately be forced to stop producing our music. Unfortunately we are not alone in this predicament as these illegal sites are abusing a large number of small independent record labels and their artists, some of who have already gone bust and had to 'pack up shop' and find another way to earn a living.
COSEY at TATE TRIENNIAL SYMPOSIUM
Cosey Fanni Tutti will be attending the forthcoming Tate Triennial 2006 Symposium: New British Art.
There will also be a rare presentation of her acclaimed 2003 film CONFESSIONS PROJECTED. The symposium takes place at Tate Britain, Milbank. London on Friday 5 May 2006, 10.00–17.30. Entrance is £25 (£20 concessions), advance booking is required. There will also be a live webcast of the event. Further details here Tate Triennial Symposium
GENERAL NEWS and INFO - UPDATE
Our recent Carter Tutti performances in Italy were a great success and very well received. Many thanks to all our Italian fans for such a positive response to the concerts (and for completely selling out the Venice gig), to Nando, Massimo, technicians and promo people involved, plus extra special thanks to Enrico for making it all possible and so enjoyable. We'd also like to make a special mention of thanks to our dear friend John Duncan for his warm presence and mesmerising performance in Venice. We've had many enquiries regarding the video projections we showed and if all goes to plan we will release them on DVD later this year - more details on this in the coming months.
ON THE SUBJECT OF CARTER TUTTI PERFORMING....
As we're sure many of you can imagine we get a lot of requests to perform as Carter Tutti but recently due to the pressure of other projects we've had to scale down our live concerts during 2004-2006. That's not to say we don't want to perform, it's just that the juggling of our schedules and the upheaval of going out on the road can be pretty considerable. Which means that unless we are offered an interesting venue and location (like somewhere we haven't played before), an unusual concept (like our quad 'Disney' performance in Los Angeles in 2005), or an offer we just cannot refuse (such as wads of cash ;) ) then we've had to be rather selective about what offers we have been able to accept.
Having said that we are currently negotiating for just one more performance in 2006, somewhere in Europe. If we accept this offer it will be the last performance in our current Carter Tutti 'configuration'. As from 2007 onwards all our Carter Tutti performances will be significantly different in content and presentation. So if you (or you organisation) have an interesting proposal for Carter Tutti please get in touch with Sadie at CTI for further details of our requirements.
COSEY FANNI TUTTI at TATE BRITAIN
Cosey has been selected for the 2006 Tate Triennial - New British Art - exhibition at Tate Britain in London. The theme of the show is 'appropriation' and Cosey is exhibiting a selection of her works from her 2005 solo show at the Van Abbe Museum in Holland and MOCA in LA. Because of the nature of Cosey's work it is being presented in an enclosed installation space within the exhibition. Tate Triennial is open to the public March 1st - 14 May 2006. There is a catalogue available.

CARTER TUTTI
After many, many (TG) distractions last year the much delayed second Carter Tutti album is finally under way and sounding great (add sound effect of Champagne corks popping!). Carter Tutti will also be playing two concerts in Italy - on 31st March in Pisa and on 5th April in Venice (see above). Cosey is also exhibiting at Tate Britain in London (see above) and in New York during 2006.
But there are still a lot of TG related projects in the pipeline, which means... apart from Carter Tutti events and releases that are already scheduled there won't be as many performances and new releases from us in 2006 as we would like. We just don't have the time this year. However, we're thrilled that much of our extensive Chris & Cosey and CTI catalogue will be available online as downloads during the first half of 2006 (including all those hard to find and deleted releases). In fact it is being transformed into various iPod friendly formats by white coated technicians as we write this.
CTI MAIL ORDER
For a number of reasons we have recently had to close our dedicated CTI Mail Order online store, (you just can't get the right staff these days, being one). But our intention is to re-open a new and improved online mail order service in time for our next CARTER TUTTI album and DVD release later this year. In the meantime our CDs can be ordered and purchased from all good record stores and though online sites such as Amazon. Stores can order our current catalogue of releases from CARGO RECORDS.
THROBBING GRISTLE BERLIN
Well TG in Berlin was amazing, but also exhausting, frustrating and bloody cold. The film premier, exhibition, rehearsals and performances all went well, despite certain gremlins at the first gig.... the PA company didn't believe our sound engineer (Charlie) when, at soundcheck, he told them our performances are very, very loud. So for those who were there and were wondering what happened.... well they hadn't given us enough power for the amps, which tripped out and blew at least four times during the show. So much for German efficiency. Great venue though. The improvised second-nighter was a very different affair, different sound system and different vibe. The new print of Derek Jarman's film 'In The Shadow of The Sun' looked incredible projected behind us, the colours were so rich and deep. We also spent some time recording new TG material at an incredible old East Berlin studio. The studio and staff were very special, so a BIG thank you to all those at Planet Roc who made our time there so relaxed.
