Squid have released a new EP of remixes, simply titled Remixes, on Warp.
The EP features reworkings of two tracks from the band’s debut album — Bright Green Field — by Cosey Fanni Tutti and Loraine James.
“I got pretty forensic extracting fragments of sound as well as deconstructing, manipulating, sampling adding new sounds and rearranging new tracks… I loved every minute of diving into the world of Squid” says Cosey.

C’est l’histoire de Christine Newby, dite Carol, Cosmosis, Cosey, Cosey Fanni Tutti... C’est elle qui nous en fait le récit, et il est essentiel que ce soit d’elle que nous le tenions : Art Sexe Musique offre un éclairage unique en son genre, ancré dans l’intimité, sur l’underground, le monde de la pornographie et le milieu de l’art britanniques. Artiste multidisciplinaire, figure incontournable de l’histoire de la musique industrielle (avec Throbbing Gristle) et de la synth wave (avec Chris & Cosey), Cosey Fanny Tutti est aussi connue pour ses années au sein du collectif à géométrie variable COUM Transmissions, ainsi que pour son travail de performeuse et de plasticienne, qui met en évidence la porosité entre marché de l’art et industrie du sexe, la nécessité d’accomplir des rituels, et tant d’autres choses encore. From British actor and film-maker Caroline Catz (pictured), Delia Derbyshire: The Myths And The Legendary Tapes presents a cinematic exploration of the life and creative output of the Coventry-born electronic musician and sound pioneer, whose creation of the iconic Doctor Who theme tune in 1963 contributed immensely to the awareness and appreciation of electronic music in Britain.
Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and The Legendary Tapes is presented as part of the BBC’s programming around the Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.
Written and directed by Caroline Catz, who also plays Delia, the film combines dramatisations, archival materials and interviews with Delia’s collaborators, while honouring the BBC Radiophonic Workshop arranger-composer's own questing spirit.
Delia Derbyshire’s story is told through two archives, the first, a collection of lost works, 267 reels of quarter inch magnetic
tape recordings of Delia’s work found in her attic after her death and another discovered in Delia’s childhood bedroom during recent renovations that revealed her school books, paintings and keepsakes. Delia’s own pieces of music are featured alongside an original soundtrack by musician and performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti.
It was the winner of the Nathaniel Hornblower Award - SXSW Festival 2021 and had its world premiere at the BFI London film festival 2020.

Industrial electronic pioneer Chris Carter gives Mute US label mate Daniel Avery’s 'Lone Swordsman' a masterful new remix. The original track was created in tribute to the late producer and DJ Andrew Weatherall.
Available from 15th October via Daniel Avery's Bandcamp page, proceeds from the sale of the single will be donated to Amnesty International in Weatherall's memory.

Chris Carter has announced the latest in a series of reissues on Mute, with Electronic Ambient Remixes One and Three set for release on coloured double-vinyl, CD and digitally.
Electronic Ambient Remixes One and Three are radical ambient reworkings of Carter’s early solo work and Throbbing Gristle’s rhythms, each album taking a microscope to elements of the original tracks, transforming them into entirely different pieces. Both albums will be available on vinyl for the first time, while the CD editions have been out of print for over 15 years.

In 50 years of performing, this is only the second time she has had to pull out of an event. We wish her a very speedy recovery. We are in the process of confirming a new line-up to the programme, which will be announced in the next few days.

The untitled book will be released in spring 2022 after head of Faber Social, Alexa von Hirschberg, acquired world all language rights from Matthew Hamilton at the Hamilton Agency.
It will see Fanni Tutti explore the personal and creative connections between herself, the iconic 1960s electronic musician Delia Derbyshire and the 15th-century mystic visionary Margery Kempe.
Fanni Tutti began her career in 1969, becoming known for her performance art, her work in the sex industry, as the co-founder of pioneering band Throbbing Gristle, and for her electronic music as half of Chris & Cosey and Carter Tutti.
Her previous book, Art Sex Magic, is currently being adapted into a film.
She said: “A few years ago I accepted the exciting offer to compose the soundtrack for a film on Delia Derbyshire and my subsequent research led me into territories I hadn’t anticipated, revealing unexpected connections between myself and Delia. Then while rummaging through the dusty shelves of a second-hand bookshop I came across an old paperback book based on what is recognised as being the first autobiography written in English, The Book of Margery Kempe, whose author was born and lived in King’s Lynn, my local town. As I got deeper into my research on Delia and Margery I was intrigued and surprised by how our worlds and our “recordings” of our lives revealed a shared dogged determination to retain a sense of self within the societies of our time despite the challenges of being constantly undermined and pressured to accept our “place”, to play our “part”. How we sought a sense of fulfilment and freedom.”
Von Hirschberg added: “This book will be a revelatory meditation on womanhood, creativity, self-expression, freedom and experimentation which will uncover the surprising links between three courageous artists. Cosey Fanni Tutti is an exceptional writer and this book will establish her as a pioneering literary as well as an artistic and musical voice.”
